Jon Dolecki enters his third season as the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy assistant baseball coach. Dolecki came to the Academy after being the Glen Cove High School Head Coach for 32 seasons. During his 32 years as the head coach he compiled 533 victories and had 29 winning seasons.

While the head coach at Glen Cove he won the New York State Championship in 1986, the Long Island Championship in 1986, the Nassau County Championship in 1986 and 1987, and the Nassau B County Championship in 1985. He also won 12 Division Championships and was the Long Island Runner-Up in 1987 and the Nassau County Runner-Up in 1989, 2004 and 2005. Dolecki was named the Nassau County Baseball Coach of the Year in 1986 and1987 while also being named the Daily News Nassau Baseball coach of the Year in 1986.
