Jeff Koutsantanou enters his fifth year at the United States Merchant Marine Academy after joining the staff as the Mariners’ Linebackers coach in 2013.  He comes to the academy with over 20 years of coaching experience at both the high school and collegiate level.  

Koutsantanou spent the previous two seasons as the Head Varsity Football Coach at Port Jefferson High School, where he served as an assistant from 2003-2010.  

Prior to joining the Port Jefferson staff, Koutsantanou was an assistant at Stony Brook (D-I FCS) where he coached running backs and linebackers.  At Stony Brook, Koutsantanou was instrumental in implementing the Sea Wolves running game and responsible for recruiting throughout the northeast region.   

Koutsantanou has also served as the wide receivers coach at LIU Post, assistant coach at Mt. Sinai HS, assistant coah at Half Hollow Hills West HS, defensive coordinator at Walt Whitman HS, and assistant coach at Half Hollow Hills East HS.   

On the field, Koutsantanou played two seaons at Fairleigh Dickinson University as a linebacker and guard.

He currently resides in Port Jefferson, NY with his wife Adrienne, and their three children: Jefferson, Claudia, and Isabella.
