Braut serves as the Athletic Trainer for Volleyball, C. Country, Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field, M. Basketball and Club Rugby.
Dan Braut joined the United States Merchant Marine Academy athletic training staff in August 2012.
He serves as an athletic trainer working with the Men’s Basketball, Volleyball, Cross Country, Track & Field, and club Rugby teams. Braut is also a professional faculty instructor of First Aid and Medical Care Provider for the midshipmen.
In 2006, Braut graduated from Towson University with a degree in athletic training. He followed his four years in Baltimore by interning with the United States Military Academy at West Point working with the Army athletics program. After completing his internship, Braut spent four years living in Hawai'i. He worked with the University of Hawai'i- Manoa intercollegiate athletics program as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for a year and a half. After that, he served within the State of Hawai’i high school system as an Athletic Health Care Trainer. During the 2011-12 school year, he worked as an athletic trainer at a physical therapy clinic and Garden City High School.
In 2017, Braut completed his master's degree in Sport Management with a concentration in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration.
Braut is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and is certified by the American Red Cross as an instructor for CPR, AED, and first aid.
Braut is originally from Long Island and currently resides in Copiague.
