Chuck Carron enters his sixth year at the United States Merchant Marine Academy as the Mariners’ Wide Receivers Coach.
He brings to the Academy 20 years of coaching experience at the high school and collegiate level. Coaching Comsewogue High School from 2007-2010, he led the team to a pair of playoff berths, as well as the sixth highest team GPA in New York State. Prior to being named Head Coach at Comsewogue, Carron served as an assistant to legendary coach Tom Cassese.
Before his tenure at Comsewogue, Carron was the Offensive and Defensive Coordinator at Centereach High School and was the Quarterbacks Coach from 1991-1992 at Stony Brook.
As a player, Carron was the quarterback at Manhattan College from 1985-1987. After college he played as a member of the New York Police Department’s team and led the squad to a National Championship in 1993.
Carron received his Bachelor’s degree in 1989 from Manhattan College and in 2000 earned his Master’s in Liberal Studies from Stony Brook University. He spent ten years serving the City of New York as a Police Officer from 1990-1999 and has been teaching social studies in the Comsewogue school district since retiring from the police force.
Carron currently resides in Mount Sinai, NY with his wife Tracey. He has two children: Mary Ellen and Kevin.
